ܒܝ̈ܘܡܘܗܝ ܣܠܩ ܢܒܘܟܕܢܨܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܥܠ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܝܘܝܩܝܡ ܥܒܕܐ ܬܠܬ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܘܗܦܟ ܘܡܪܕ ܥܠܘܗܝ

In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years. Then he turned and rebelled against him.

ܘܓܪܝ ܒܗ ܡܪܝܐ ܓܝܣ̈ܐ ܕܟ̈ܠܕܝܐ ܘܓܝܣ̈ܐ ܕܐܕܘܡ ܘܓܝܣ̈ܐ ܕܡܘܐܒ ܘܓܝܣ̈ܐ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܘܓܪܝ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܝܗܘܕܐ ܕܢܘܒܕܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܕܡܠܠ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܢܒ̈ܝܐ

Yahweh sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, bands of the Syrians, bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to Yahweh’s word which he spoke by his servants the prophets.

ܡܢ ܦܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܗܘܐ ܪܘܓܙܐ ܪܒܐ ܥܠ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܕܢܥܒܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܡܛܠ ܚ̈ܛܗܘܗܝ ܕܡܢܫܐ ܘܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܥܒܕ
debd mdm wkl dmnsh' khThwhy mTl qdmwhy mn 'nwn dnebr yhwd' el rb' rwgz' whw' dmry' pwmh mn
Surely at the commandment of Yahweh this came on Judah, to remove them out of his sight for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,

ܘܕܡܐ ܙܟܝܐ ܕܐܫܕ ܘܡܠܗ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܕܡܐ ܙܟܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܨܒܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܫܒܩ
lmshbq mry' tsb' wl' zky' dm' l'wrshlm wmlh d'shd zky' wdm'
and also for the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Yahweh would not pardon.

ܘܫܪܟܐ ܕܦܬ̈ܓܡܘܗܝ ܕܝܘܝܩܝܡ ܘܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܕܥܒܕ ܗܐ ܟܬܝܒܝܢ ܒܣܦܪ ܕܒܪܝܡܝܢ ܕܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ
dyhwd' dmlk' dbrymyn bspr kthybyn h' debd mdm wkl dywyqym dpthgmwhy wshrk'
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

ܘܫܟܒ ܝܘܝܩܝܡ ܥܡ ܐ̈ܒܗܘܗܝ ܘܐܡܠܟ ܝܘܝܟܝܢ ܒܪܗ ܒܬܪܗ
bthrh brh ywykyn w'mlk 'bhwhy em ywyqym wshkb
So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.

ܘܠܐ ܐܘܣܦ ܬܘܒ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܠܡܦܩ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܢܣܒ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܡܢ ܢܚܠܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܢܗܪܐ ܦܪܬ ܟܠ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ

The king of Egypt didn’t come out of his land any more; for the king of Babylon had taken, from the brook of Egypt to the river Euphrates, all that belonged to the king of Egypt.

ܒܪ ܬܡܢܥܣܪܐ ܗܘܐ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܝܘܝܟܝܢ ܟܕ ܐܡܠܟ ܘܬܠܬܐ ܝܪ̈ܚܝܢ ܐܡܠܟ ܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܫܡܐ ܕܐܡܗ ܢܚܫܬܐ ܒܪܬ ܐܠܝܬܢ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ
'wrshlm mn 'lythn brth nkhshth' d'mh wshm' b'wrshlm 'mlk yrkhyn wthlth' 'mlk kd ywykyn shnyn hw' thmnesr' br
Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. His mother’s name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

ܘܥܒܕ ܕܒܝܫ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܥܒܕ ܐܒܘܗܝ
'bwhy debd 'yk mry' qdm dbysh webd
He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, according to all that his father had done.

ܒܙܒܢܐ ܗܘ ܣܠܩ ܢܒܘܟܕܢܨܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܥܠ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܐܬܚܒܫܬ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܒܐܘܠܨܢܐ

At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

ܘܐܬܐ ܢܒܘܟܕܢܨܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܫܪܝܢ ܥܠ ܩܪܝܬܐ

Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city while his servants were besieging it,

ܘܢܦܩ ܝܘܝܟܝܢ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܠܘܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܗܘ ܘܐܡܗ ܘܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܘܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܘܗܝ ܘܡܗܝ̈ܡܢܘܗܝ ܘܕܒܪܗ ܥܡܗ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܒܫܢܬ ܬܡܢܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܗ

and Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon—he, his mother, his servants, his princes, and his officers; and the king of Babylon captured him in the eighth year of his reign.

ܘܐܦܩ ܡܢ ܬܡܢ ܟܠܗ ܓܙܐ ܕܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܓܙܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܘܦܣܩ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܡܐ̈ܢܐ ܕܕܗܒܐ ܕܥܒܕ ܫܠܝܡܘܢ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' d'mr 'yk dmry' lbythh d'ysryl mlk' shlymwn debd ddhb' m'n' klhwn wpsq mlk' dbyth wgz' dmry' dbythh gz' klh thmn mn w'pq
He carried out from there all the treasures of Yahweh’s house and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in Yahweh’s temple, as Yahweh had said.

ܘܓܠܝ ܠܟܠܗ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܢܒܪ̈ܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܥܣܪܐ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܒܓܠܘܬܐ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܚ̈ܫܐ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܪ̈ܗܛܐ ܘܠܐ ܫܒܩ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ ܕܥܡܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ

He carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths. No one remained except the poorest people of the land.

ܘܓܠܝ ܠܝܘܝܟܝܢ ܠܒܒܠ ܘܠܐܡܗ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܘܠܢܫ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܘܠܡܗ̈ܝܡܢܘܗܝ ܘܠܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܐܘܒܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܓܠܘܬܐ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܠܒܒܠ

He carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, with the king’s mother, the king’s wives, his officers, and the chief men of the land. He carried them into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.

ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܚܝ̈ܠܬܢܐ ܫܒܥܐ ܐ̈ܠܦܝܢ ܘܕܚܫ̈ܐ ܘܪ̈ܗܛܐ ܐܠܦ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܥܒ̈ܕܝ ܩܪܒܐ ܐܝܬܝ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܒܓܠܘܬܐ ܠܒܒܠ
lbbl bglwth' dbbl mlk' 'nwn 'ythy qrb' ebdy gbr' wklhwn 'lp wrhT' wdkhsh' 'lpyn shbe' khylthn' gbr' wklhwn
All the men of might, even seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths one thousand, all of them strong and fit for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.

ܘܐܡܠܟ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܠܡܬܢܝܐ ܕܕܗ ܚܠܦܘܗܝ ܘܫܡܝ ܫܡܗ ܨܕܩܝܐ

The king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s father’s brother, king in his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

ܒܪ ܥܣܪ̈ܝܢ ܗܘܐ ܘܚܕܐ ܫܢܝ̈ܢ ܨܕܩܝܐ ܟܕ ܐܡܠܟ ܘܚܕܥܣܪܐ ܫܢܝ̈ܢ ܐܡܠܟ ܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܫܡܐ ܕܐܡܗ ܚܡܛܘܠ ܒܪܬ ܐܪܡܝܐ ܡܢ ܠܒܢܐ
lbn' mn 'rmy' brth khmTwl d'mh wshm' b'wrshlm 'mlk shnyn wkhdesr' 'mlk kd tsdqy' shnyn wkhd' hw' esryn br
Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

ܘܥܒܕ ܕܒܝܫ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܥܒܕ ܝܘܝܩܝܡ

He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

ܘܗܘܐ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܥܠ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܫܕܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܘܡܪܕ ܨܕܩܝܐ ܥܠ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ

For through the anger of Yahweh, this happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. Then Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
